Historic Valley Forge
Counted Cross Stitch Kit

The Revolutionary War encampment at Valley Forge has come to symbolize the perseverance and sacrifice of the individual continental soldier. During the winter of 1777 and the spring of 1778, General George Washington and his staff coordinated the daily operations of the Continental Army from his headquarters in this house overlooking Valley Creek and the Schuylkill River. Here, Washington received local officials and foreign dignitaries, orchestrated reconnaissance, training, and battle plans, and managed the administration and logistics of the army, assisted by twenty or more officers and aides. Despite the incredible hardships endured by his soldiers, Washington was able to transform the army into an effective fighting organization that ultimately triumphed over the British.
