In 1951, Lyndon Johnson purchased this house from his "Aunt Frank" Martin. During Johnson's presidential years, 1963-1969, this home came to be known as the Texas White House, a place where the president could work and relax, and spend time with family and friends. Lyndon and Lady Bird Johnson called this place home until their deaths, his in 1972 and hers in 2007. The home is now part of Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park, located in central Texas. |
